» Tropical Park Miami - Visitors guide & trip planner South Beach Miami

Miami-Dade County's Tropical Park is a park for the sports-minded. It has fields for softball, soccer and football as well as places to play basketball and volleyball. For those partial to racquet sports, Miami Tropical Park offers a tennis center with 12 wheelchair-accessible tennis courts. Racquetball facilities are also available. With four lakes and a beach, Tropical Park is an inviting destination for paddleboating, sunbathing, swimming and freshwater fishing. Joggers and cyclists will appreciate the paved pathways circulating through the 275-acre park. Visitors to Miami Tropical Park may also enjoy watching horse shows, rodeos and other special events at the Tropical Park Equestrian Center. From early November through the beginning of January, Santa's Enchanted Forest takes over a sizeable chunk of Tropical Park. The annual holiday Miami Tropical Park event features five million lights, a giant Christmas tree, carnival rides and live entertainment.

Whether you are looking for a good workout, a great place to relax in the fresh air, or the perfect spot for a picnic, this park is ideal. One of the largest parks in town, it features four lakes, separate football, soccer, and softball fields, plus racquetball, volleyball, and basketball courts. Other park activities include swimming, sunbathing, freshwater fishing and fishing contests, paddle boating, and bicycling, with boat and bicycle rentals available weekends and holidays.

Tropical Park, developed on the site of a former horse track in 1979, attracts approximately 1,000,000 visitors annually. Visitors can enjoy bicycling, walking or running on the miles of paved pathways.  Visitors can shape up on our fitness court or at our boxing center. Tropical Stadium is home to our nationally recognized Metro-Dade Track and Field Team. The stadium has hosted prestigious national track and field meets such as the Junior Olympics and USA National Track and Field Championships. A walking club has also been created for visitors of all ages. Tropical’s Equestrian Center hosts over thirty horse shows annually, including international shows.  Athletes can play tennis, racquetball, basketball, soccer or join one of our popular softball leagues. From football games in the stadium to special events, to boating on one of our four lakes, Tropical Park has something for everyone.
